The European Life Settlement Association (ELSA) has launched Life Risk News, a new digital magazine and website covering capital market participation in longevity and mortality risk investing.
The life risk industry is a multi-faceted, but siloed asset class. Investment managers in the industry tend to focus on specific sectors within life risk, with media coverage being similarly specialised. Life Risk News has been launched to provide market participants with one platform that will cater for all life risk-related markets.
“What’s sorely lacking in the longevity and mortality markets is a catch-all platform that can enable institutional, end investors to understand the interconnectedness of the life risk market and identify new opportunities for their portfolios,” said Chris Wells, Executive Director at ELSA in London. “We’re delighted to launch Life Risk News to provide education and awareness to investors interested in this part of the capital markets.”
Life Risk News will cover a range of topics within capital market participation in longevity and mortality risk. The life risk market encompasses a broad range of investable opportunities, including life settlements, longevity risk transfer, life contingent structured settlements, equity release mortgages, and much more.
“We want to highlight to institutional end investors both the size and the scale of mortality and longevity-based investment opportunities,” said Chris Conway, Chief Development Officer at ISC Services, and Chair of the Editorial Committee at Life Risk News. “This industry has, so far, not helped itself when it comes to helping the capital markets understand the risks and opportunities involved in longevity and mortality investing. The team at Life Risk News looks forward to supporting the industry with both opinion and insight.”
